Our Pastors

Pastor Ross Knight has served in the Carolina conference since August of 2012 including his Seminary training (2012-2014, and pastoring the Boone and Banner Elk, NC churches (2015-2018), followed by serving as the associate pastor to the Spartanburg SDA Church (2019-2022.  He presently serves as the Senior Pastor of Raleigh SDA Church since the beginning of 2023. Pastor Ross was raised in the Carolinas and is a proud graduate of Mount Pisgah Academy, Southern Adventist University, and Andews Theological Seminary. He and his wife Meggan have been married since June of 2016 and became parents in April of 2022 adopting their precious baby girl Elizabeth and adopted again in January 2026 baby Emily. Pastor Ross has a passion for intergenerational ministry, believing all ages have the ability to serve in God’s army in ministry. In his free time, Pastor Ross enjoys sports of all kinds, disc golf, reading, and camping with his family.

Pastor Lal Chawngthu has just recently started as the Associate Pastor in the Carolina Conference as of May 2025. Pastor Lal and his family came to the United States back in 2011 from Myanmar and was baptized into the Adventist church at the age of 13. Before pastoring, he went to the Seminary graduating with a Masters in Divinity. Pastor Lal has always been in ministry, volunteering and assisting young adult ministries with different churches. As a hobby, Pastor Lal enjoys playing golf, volleyball and cooking. Pastor Lal has a deep passion for discipleship ministry, training and leading members to be hands on ministers to their communities.
